Fred Nassar founded the company "Oriental Rug Gallery" in Toledo, Ohio in 1972 to bring these special designs to a new market.

Michael Nassar

President & CEO

Michael took over the business from his father, and took a fresh approach to the oriental rug trade. As he worked with designers and importers, he established the company's presence on the web and continued growing. Today, Oriental Rug Galaxy's online store has serviced thousands of satisfied customers and continues the legacy of luxury products with service you can't beat. His expertise and commitment to providing great service can assure you that you'll be happy with your purchase.

Michael graduated from The Ohio State University before stepping up to lead the business. In his free time he enjoys golfing, watching and playing soccer, and spending time with his family. Michael's personality lights up those around him, and the team looks up to him fondly for his leadership skills.

Talal Farhan

Senior Sales Representative

Talal joined the team in 2021 to keep growing the business even further into the digital age. As he learned more about the trade and business operations, he began overseeing our social media outreach and advertising, along with managing our extensive inventory. He is ambitious, and has a sharp mind for managing sales in the store and online. As a vital part of our team's workflow, he brings the energy and drive for quick and accurate service.

Talal enjoys watching and playing soccer (many times with Michael!), growing his skills as a business visionary, and dining on a variety of cuisines. While he takes care of business he does it with a smile and keeps the team moving joyously. 

Kyle Uerkwitz

Senior Software Engineer

Kyle attended the University of Toledo for Computer Science before carving his own path with programming. He joined the team in 2025 to overhaul the technology behind Oriental Rug Galaxy. He immediately loved the energy the team brought and jumped at the chance to develop a new and updated shopping website (the one you're visiting right now!). He has a deep passion for active learning and building, and is our resident technology expert for connecting the dots between our service and your front-porch.

Kyle enjoys playing guitar, making and listening to music, and programming with various tools and projects. His years of experience with technology help keep operations running smoothly for the whole team.
